ASUS has confirmed that it will be launching the ROG Phone 3 this month, the successor to last year's ROG Phone 2. The device, which is thought to include a 6,000 mAh battery, has already been seen in a leaked hands-on video and at the TENAA. The ROG Phone 3 should have a high-refresh-rate AMOLED panel and perhaps even a Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset.

The ROG Phone 3 is launching this month, ASUS has confirmed. The device will succeed the ROG Phone 2, which we reviewed last year. Leaked hands-on images of the device and a TENAA certification listing suggest that ASUS has stayed close to the design of the ROG Phone 2, including the inclusion of a prominent ROG logo on the back of the device.

The "Grand Launch Event", as ASUS is calling it, will commence on July 22 at 15:00 UTC. While the company is yet to announce in which countries it will sell the ROG Phone 3, it has emphasised the launch times for Taipei, Milan and New York. Hence, it should be expected that the ROG Phone 3 will not only be released in Taiwan, Italy and the US, but also the rest of the EU and North America.

The ROG Phone 3 is expected to feature a 6.59-inch and 1080p AMOLED panel, along with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.0 flash storage. Additionally, a 6,000 mAh battery will be powering the device, while a hands-on video has confirmed that its primary rear-facing camera will be a 64 MP Quad Bayer sensor. There is also talk of ASUS including a Snapdragon 865+ SoC in the ROG Phone 3 too. However, this could well be an overclocked Snapdragon 865 without any "Plus" branding.
